High-performance processing architecture and data integrity

The U680 series introduces 12th and 13th generation Intel® Core™ performance to the 4U rackmount platform, supporting high-power calculation workloads up to 219W TDP for intensive edge AI inference and high-throughput vision inspection. Utilizing the Intel W680 chipset, the system implements ECC memory architecture across its 4-slot DDR5 layout to systematically eliminate runtime data corruption in mission-critical workstation environments. This high-availability computing base accommodates adaptive 2 M.2 NVMe/SATA pathways and 4 SATA 3.0 channels, establishing a secure storage topology for continuous data logging.

High-density expansion topology and field control

A heavy-duty 7-slot expansion management layer eliminates the need for external hardware hubs by housing complex multi-card configurations directly within the chassis. The hybrid topology allocates 2 PCIe 5.0/4.0 x16 slots and 3 PCIe 4.0/3.0 x4 slots to deliver the synchronized processing bandwidth required for simultaneous high-end GPU acceleration and vision frame grabbing, while 2 standard PCI slots maintain unbroken continuity with classic industrial control architectures. Field-level device synchronization is natively embedded via 1 external multi-protocol serial interface, 4 internal RS-232 headers, and 1 dedicated PS/2 port.

Network isolation, multi-screen monitoring, and reliability

The network architecture utilizes independent Intel i226 2.5 GbE and Intel i219-V Gigabit Ethernet controllers to isolate deterministic machine subnets from higher-level plant networks. Multi-screen control environments and complex HMI topologies are driven directly through a versatile display matrix consisting of 2 DP, 1 HDMI, and 1 DVI-D outputs, supported by 10 USB 3.2 ports for high-speed peripheral routing. Engineered for wide-temperature operation from -10 to 60°C, the chassis integrates an SLB9670 encryption chip for hardware-level TPM 2.0 security, backed by ATX power distribution with AT/ATX mode selection to ensure absolute electrical stability under full expansion loads.
